catchthemoonrabbit said: Hey there! I found your blog through textsfromcrystaltokyo, and I must say I loved your Soldier sonnet! It's perfect! x
Thank you! It’s more or less from Tuxedo Mask’s point of view, but honestly, the same sentiment could fit for any of the Inners: she rescued every one of them from isolation. <3
That is a lot of stuff going on, right there. Tuxedo Mask sidesteps away from the mouth of the cave, and then when things progress to the point of villainous three-part harmony, he finally gets an expression that’s blindingly clear even with the half-opaque mask over his eyes: indignation. Leaping up to a rock a few feet higher up the mountain, he lifts his cane and yells out, “Villains who use the sweet art of harmonic vocal expression to bolster the foul trespasses of a bully who apparently consumes sentient life, I won’t forgive you!”
His light footsteps take him, tap-tap against flat stones, in a fleet-and-sure-footed circle around Kraehe. “Nothing— ”nothing” is truly hollow; no ghastly sin is forever damning! I, Tuxedo Kamen, won’t stand for despair! Not for those who bring it, and not for the despair in their own hearts!”
"ME?! What do YOU want? This is Mai’s dorm! How dare you lurk in her sanctuary, waiting for her to come home so you can ambush her! Her dormitory room is a place of excellent cooking and terrible timing, and I, Tuxedo Kamen, won’t forgive you for trying to ruin her day!"
Tuxedo Mask stands silhouetted by the moon on the roof of the shrine. His voice is coldly furious. “The aspirations of young girls are nothing to be toyed with or attacked, and to use them against her in order to take her energy is unforgivable! Let the powerful love of Runealy-san’s friends violently demonstrate to you the error of your ways!”
He flings back his cape with one arm, cane in hand, and says even more loudly. “Allies of justice, this is the work of the Dark Kingdom! Erase its impurities from this world!”
The upperclassman clears his throat and shifts his weight, forcing himself to find some kind of zen. “Sure,” he says again, reaching up to run a hand through his hair, looking away from them. Yes. Call up the reserves of theatricality upon which he relies so heavily sometimes— yes, a foul monster has done unspeakable things to the woman he loves— ”INJUSTICE ABOUNDS”.
Abruptly, Chiba swings to face Kinzo, handsome face twisted in bespectacled fury, one hand in a fist and the other holding some invisible prop like a weapon, or maybe a Zippo. “A young girl’s heart is the home of dreams and wishes too pure and good for you to understand, but your wickedness is not excused by your ignorance! Hell-spawned creature of darkness, who have seduced and brainwashed innocent maidens and taken that precious innocence from them, I won’t forgive you! For what you have done to my WIFE, there can be no punishment great enough to be sure justice is done— death is too good for you! But your death shall serve to protect the future from your curse, from your predation, your depravity—!! YOU ARE UNFORGIVABLE!!”
Then out of the melee steps the tall man in the swirling black cape and stylish tuxedo, gripping his cane in one hand. “How dare you create a sweet and delicious youma from a child’s treat, only to let her die in your service! HOW DARE YOU STEAL the inner heart of a young girl and try to gift it to your dark mistress?!”
"BASE TREACHERY!" bellows Tuxedo Kamen, leaping up onto a counter and continuing, feet light and chiming against the metal surfaces as he soars toward Fred. "How dare you waste excellent cuisine! How DARE you seek to destroy the dreams of a young maiden dedicated to bringing the delight of gourmet cooking to appreciative palates! You are a CHILD, throwing tantrums at the idea of losing! And you will ALWAYS lose in the end!"
Still cheesed off about the youma quiz show, days later…:
Abruptly Mamoru’s animated again, alight with indignation and sitting up with an offensive grace considering the length of his limbs. “It took over a quiz show! How dare he use the innocent desire of people to display their knowledge against them?” He punctuates this with a fist applied forcefully to a palm and a serious scowl. “Seriously not even ”remotely” cool. Not my fault she was there too.”
Totally reflexive but also totally doing it on purpose:
it was… really late…
"For pretending to be a pile of delightful snow in which children play with innocent laughter," he stage-whispers imperiously as he lands on a fire escape opposite, "I cannot forgive you! Whatever you are. I, Tuxedo Kamen, am your opponent! So chase me right now or we might wake up the kids!"
Youma Quiz Show:
"People wish for adulation and fame for the hard work they do to learn everything they can! To use this desire against innocent contestants and their friends and families who have come to support them is a crime! I, Tuxedo Kamen, shall not forgive you!"
